JERSA INDUSTRIAL AND MARINE CORP. was founded in September 1991 as a ship repair and industrial services company. A year after, it organized a core group of EX-PNOC DOCKYARD AND ENGINEERING CORP. employees to run the business. These recruits are technical and skilled individuals who have the expertise in shipyard operations. The formed group enabled JERSA to engage in structural, piping, and mechanical works.

Sometime in 1995, the company formulated its expansion program to support the goal, JERSA applied and obtained a significant loan then from the Far East Bank and Trust Co. (now merged with the Bank of the Philippine Islands), to buy major equipments to beef up its machine shop capabilities and do surface preservation and painting works. With the increased capacity of JERSA, it enabled to attract and serve multi-national companies such as the HERMA GROUP OF COMPANIES, etc. Since that time, more large companies such as the Negros Navigation, Herma Shipyard Inc., Subic Dry-dock Corporation, etc. tapped the services of JERSA in various categories of work.

In 2012, JERSA constructed its permanent office building and shop facilities at #44 National Highway, San Roque, Bauan, Batangas.
